Insomnia/Sleepless in Singapore
I do not sleep
I am in Kefalonia
Wide awake
I wish I was here
Rivers were born to meet the sea.
I toss, I turn, and roll alone
In the dark of streetlight
Dead as stone
Whatever it takes to get to the sea.
Sore from waiting
I hate to say
The pining of romance
Some oceans away
Oceans were made to hide my grief.
And we were made to love.

It was 17 days old. It's eaten warm after it's boiled, but we happened to wait till it got really cold before eating. Swallowing was difficult but still I did it!
We brought Ginger home in early January after he was abandoned. My mom even sewed him two spiffy collars!
An art work can be a doxology in itself.
God is interested in beauty. God made people to be beautiful. And beauty has a place in the worship of God.
The Lordship of Christ over the whole of life means that there are no platonic areas in Christianity, no dichotomy or hierarchy between the body and soul. God made the body as well as the soul and redemption is for the whole man.
...when a man comes under the blood of Christ, his whole capacity as man is refashioned. His soul is saved, yes, but so are his mind and body. As Christians we are to look to Christ day by day, for Christ will produce his fruit through us. True spirituality means the Lordship of Christ over the total man...[Christianity] involves the whole man, including his intellect and creativeness. Christianity is not just "dogmatically" true or "doctrinally" true, but true to what is there, true in the whole area of the whole man in all of life...once we understand that Christianity is true to what is there, true to the ultimate environment - the infinite, personal God who is really there - then our minds are freed. We can pursue any question and can be sure that we will not fall off the end of the earth.
How often do Christians think of sexual matters as something second-rate. Never, never, never should we do so, according to the Word of God. The whole man is made to love God; each aspect of man's nature is to be given its proper place. That includes the sexual relationship, that tremendous relationship of one man to one woman. At the very beginning God brought Eve to man. A love poem can thus be beautiful. So if you are a young man or a young woman and you love a girl or you love a boy, you may indeed write beautiful love poetry. Don't be afraid. That too can be praise to God. And when the two people are Christians, it can be a conscious doxology.
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.People don't look ugly when they eat hastily. They look ugly when they are greedy, no matter how dressed up or affluent and charismatic they may be. Greed rears its ugly head in their eyes and mouth. And that is how I look like when I am greedy in my heart. I must have been so ugly in the past when I gorged myself out on buffets! Yet God had been patient to tolerate that while he changed me in that aspect.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
God (in Ephesians 5: 3-13)
“Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
listen, that you may live.
...
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:1-3, 9-11
